Hi, I'm Danny

Even though my photography gig is called "Daniel R Ball Photography", in real life I'm "Danny". Like I said over on that other page, I take pictures of people, places, and things! But really I love to take photos that tell a story. I love photography as art, and I love when it captures something truly authentic and unique. Too, I even enjoy taking somewhat traditional portraits. I also love photography as a way to meet and get to know lots of unique and amazing people. That might be my favorite part of being a photographer.

I'm also a husband and father. I have a pretty amazing wife. She's a Nurse. She's also my second shooter for weddings. Our first date was at a swing dancing event with a big band playing and everything. It was pretty cool. And I have 4 kids. Three girls and a boy. They're crazy and awesome! Besides photography, I love playing guitar. In fact, if you ask I'll tell you some "I used to be in a band" stories, but only if you ask.. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, at 48 I still jump on the trampoline with my kids, and I love grilling out all year, even in sub-zero temperatures. I like Star Wars, the Goonies, The Princess Bride, and pretty much all the classic 80s movies. Oh, and my favorite bands are Rush and the Grateful Dead. Lastly, maybe the coolest thing I've ever done is spend a month in a drum making village called Okurase, in Ghana, West Africa.
